Nina Pineda | ABC7 WABC News Team
Nina Pineda is an award-winning broadcast journalist with WABC-TV in New York. She has covered some of the biggest stories of her generation and is the face of WABC-TV's "7 On Your Side." For the last 4 years, Nina and her team at Channel 7 hit a milestone for Channel 7 viewers - helping victims of Superstorm Sandy, and defrauded consumers gain back more than $1,000,000 through the station's trouble-shooting and consumer help unit.

Nina's live reporting has taken her from the center of some of the worst natural disasters in the United States, Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy, to some of the country's most historic moments - the inauguration of President Barack Obama and the attacks on 9/11.

Nina's reports on September 11, 2001 from underneath the World Trade Center Towers helped earn Nina and her colleagues at WABC and ABC News the prestigious Peabody Award for Excellence in Journalism. The dusty red outfit she wore, a red suit and black shoes along with a clip reel of her reports are forever a part of our national history, preserved in a Smithsonian exhibit on 9/11 through the Senator John Heinz History Center in her hometown, Pittsburgh, PA.

Active in the Tri-State charity community, participates in fundraisers for various Asian American and Women's organizations, including the New York Asian Women's Center and the Women's Rights and Information Center where Nina serves on the Board of Trustee.

In 2013, Nina was a recipient of CUNY Asian Role Model of the Year Award. In 2014, Nina was honored by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs for her work helping victims of consumer fraud. In 2016, Nina was recognized by Bergen County's Executive Director for her work helping victims of crime in Bergen County.

Nina has appeared nationally on Prime Time Live, Live with Regis and Kelly and CNN. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Syracuse University and lives in Bergen County with her husband, John, raising 2 young daughters.
