UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- FDNY crews put out a large fire at an apartment building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Friday morning.

The blaze was reported at 305 E. 95th St. around 10 a.m.

The fire on the roof extended to the cockloft and into three penthouses on the top floor of the building.

Deputy Assistant Chief James Canty said three firefighters suffered minor injuries.

The superintendent was in the basement at the time of the fire. He is also being treated for a minor injury at this point.

Officials said the origin of the fire was on the roof level itself and the cause is under further investigation.
