About the Role & Team
Join our world-class Disney Legal Immigration team as an Immigration Compliance Specialist. Help our International Program participants and Crew Members obtain the necessary documents to work at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The Immigration Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting Walt Disney World International Programs Participants with United States immigration visas as well as Disney Cruise Line Crew Members with visas needed to work onboard. The Specialist will collaborate with the Disney Legal Immigration team to review and process visa support documentation for International Program Participants. As one of our Responsible Officers, the Immigration Compliance Specialist also ensures visa program compliance while International Program Participants are in the United States. The Immigration Compliance Specialist also works with Disney Cruise Line Recruitment and Labor teams to ensure Crew have the necessary visa support documents.
What You Will Do
- Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J-1 Program with the U.S. Department of State
- Review and accurately input International Program Participant data into our immigration tracking system as well as U.S. government system
- Partner with International Recruitment and Operating Participant Companies to review and verify accurate information for all participants
- Gather, track and review information and documents from participants to ensure visa eligibility prior to issuing immigration paperwork
- Issue and generate visa support documentation
- Review, analyze and apply federal regulations relating to the visa programs we support
- Ensure compliance with J-1 and Q-1 visa regulations
- Draft Q-1 petitions for submission to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Process Q-1 substitutions as well as cancelation, delays and termination notices
- Process Disney Cruise Line Crew Members visa support documents
- Follow written standard operating guidelines to ensure tasks are performed completely and correctly
- Respond accurately and timely to participant and crew inquiries
- Use judgement in escalating necessary situations to leadership
- May be assigned to other related roles and/or projects
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products (knowledge of automation tools is a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
- Task oriented with attention to detail
- Ability to work individually and as a team player
- Ability to maintain efficiency and accuracy while prioritizing workstreams
- Due to government regulations relating to the visa programs the team oversees, must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
