About this game

SIMULACRA 3 continues the narrative-driven found-phone horror game series. The once charming town of Stonecreek has seen better days. People are vanishing into thin air, leaving nothing behind but strange symbols where they were last seen. Your only lead is the phone of a missing investigator. Armed with a map app and a trail of creepy videos, delve into the darkest corners of the digital realms as you investigate the horrors seen on his phone and in Stonecreek.

Huge fan of the Simulacra series, but I felt this one was too short. Some cool new concepts were introduced, and a pretty good script with relevant commentary on current affairs, but definitely should be longer. They had a lot of material to work with in the story (e.g., could have added more missing persons cases and expounded more on the lore), I think, but the ending felt so abrupt.

Good game and a lot of work done to make some things feel realistic. The problem is that if you have played the first two games in the Simulacra series, this one really falls short. The second one was so impressive and really has you get to know multiple characters. Once you release one done that well, you have to at least meet the same level of expectations or even beyond. Game number one, 4 stars. Game number 2, 5 stars. Game number 3, 3 stars. Seems they went in the wrong direction.

The game would jolt and lag a bit, and the jumpscares where sort of poorly made. But overall, not bad. Not the best of the games, but it's up there. Hopefully the next game works out better! (If there will be! I hope so!) Maybe we could see returning characters, like Anna, Taylor, Greg, Arya, Mina, Rex, etc. Some parts like the camera thing and helping Ruby escape were pretty fun and thrilling.
