To showcase your member shipping benefits on Google listings, such as free or expedited shipping tailored to each membership level, you must first add structured shipping benefits in your loyalty program, then set up your specific member shipping policies. This article guides you through setting up the member shipping policy.

Step 1 of 2: Set up a member shipping policy
After adding ”Shipping benefits” in the loyalty program set up in Merchant Center, you’ll be prompted to create new member shipping policies to associate shipping benefits for your loyalty members. These shipping policies can be configured for each tier of your loyalty program.
In your Loyalty programs page, for each tier which you have specified shipping benefits, you’ll view an “Add shipping” button listed in Actions.
Note: If you don’t find the “Add shipping” button, this means you don’t have a structured shipping benefit set up for that tier during loyalty program setup. Ensure that you select “Shipping benefit” in the dropdown menu. Don’t describe your shipping benefit using the "Other benefit" option.
Click Add shipping to create a new member shipping policy. You’ll be directed to the “Add your shipping information” page.
In “Add your shipping information” setup, the shipping policy name is automatically generated, but you can always change it. The correct country and loyalty tier are already selected for you automatically.
On the “Products” page, you can select “All Products” or select “specific products” and specify a loyalty shipping label. If you select “specific products”, the loyalty shipping label will need to be included in the loyalty program
[loyalty_program]
attribute in your product data source.
On the “Delivery times” and "Shipping costs" page, add the shipping speed and shipping cost associated with the tier.
- Provide the perk associated with each program after you create the new shipping policy. For example, you can include that members can have free shipping for orders over $10 USD.
Click Save, you’ll find the shipping information you have configured for the loyalty program tier. After you confirm and click Done, you’ll be re-directed back to the loyalty programs page to add new member shipping policies for other tiers that offer member shipping benefits.
Note: When you have added the first member shipping policy for your loyalty program tier, “Add more shipping” will appear in the Actions in Loyalty programs page. You can create multiple shipping policies for each tier of your loyalty program from there.
Step 2 of 2: Select offers eligible for the member shipping benefit (Optional)
When your member shipping policy is set to "specific products," you must add the exact loyalty shipping label defined in that policy to the shipping label [shipping_label]
sub-attribute, within the loyalty program [loyalty_program]
attribute, for all eligible product offers.
For offers ineligible for the member shipping benefit, don’t include the shipping label [shipping_label]
sub-attribute within the loyalty program [loyalty_program]
attribute. The presence of this [shipping_label]
sub-attribute determines a product's eligibility for the member shipping policy when the member shipping policy is set to “specific products.”
Note: The loyalty shipping label is different from the regular shipping label [shipping_label]
.
If you have a single-tier program, program_label and tier_label are not required.

To show member shipping on Ads, set up Customer Match in Google ads:
- Upload your member list (separated by tiers) in Google Ads Audience manager.
- Assign customer type as “loyalty program members” and select the tier numbers set up in Merchant Center.
When assigned, member shipping benefits will automatically serve on Shopping ads for the users in the corresponding user list. Learn more about Defining your customer list
Manage visibility of your member shipping policy
Note that the "Hide on Google" option is not available for member shipping policies. You’ll be redirected to the loyalty program page to remove the shipping benefit for the relevant tier if you attempt to change the visibility.
Similarly, member shipping policies cannot be deleted directly from the Shipping & Returns page. If you attempt to delete a member shipping policy, you’ll be redirected to the loyalty program page to remove the shipping benefit for the relevant tier. Vice versa, if you delete the shipping benefit in loyalty programs for a specific tier, the shipping policy will be deleted altogether.
