17-year-old killed in multi-vehicle crash on Fred Hartman Bridge in Baytown, officials say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 17-year-old was killed Thursday morning in a crash along the Fred Hartman Bridge in Baytown, according to officials.

The crash happened at about 11:57 a.m. According to the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office, deputies responded to the crash on the southbound lanes of the Fred Hartman Bridge between La Porte and Baytown.

Authorities said the crash involved three vehicles, including the motorcycle the 17-year-old was riding.

Medical aid was provided to the teen, but authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused the southbound lanes of the bridge to be shut down for some time, but everything was cleared by 3:30 p.m.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation as officials investigate the cause of the incident.
