'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' season 2 details revealed
"Ready for what comes next?" Disney's "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" reveals guest stars (Selena Gomez, Freya Skye, Harvey Guillén and more) and its return date: Sept. 12 on Disney Channel and Oct. 8 on Disney+.

We're finding out lots of new details about season two of "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place."

David Henrie is back as Justin Russo, Janice LeAnn Brown returns as Billie and she's joined by Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo and Max Matenko as Milo Russo. Also returning are Taylor Cora as Winter and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.

According to the official synopsis, "Billie grapples with the fact that being part of the Russo family might be more complicated than she thought -especially now that she's not the only wizard in the house. Thanks to Roman and Milo's new magical powers, Justin is now tasked with training three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. As the stakes rise inside and outside the family, a mysterious new threat emerges, one that could unravel the Russos forever."

Executive producer Selena Gomez will guest star in a few episodes, as she did in season one. She's joined by "ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires" star Freya Skye (Piper), "What We Do in the Shadows" star Harvey Guillén (Gossip Stone), Kirsten Vangsness (Bigelow McFigglehorn), Recker Eans (Quentin), Tobias Jelinek (Lord Morsus), Patrick Bristow (Wiz M.D.) and Eleanor Sweeney (Bella Bianchi).

AND, some iconic characters from "Wizards of Waverly Place" will make special appearances. Look for Bill Chott as Mr. Laritate and Sean Whalen as Mantooth throughout this season. Plus Amanda Tepe, who had many memorable roles in the original series, makes a special appearance in a Christmas-themed episode.

In a teaser for the new season (in the video player above), Roman says "Are you ready for what comes next?" And Milo answers, "A Russo is always ready."

Season two of "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" premieres September 12 on Disney Channel and October 8 on Disney+.
