WABC Media Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented News Media Manager to join our team. This full-time role is integral to the smooth execution of daily newscasts and special projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with producers, editors, and newsroom managers to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery.
Responsibilities:
Oversee media ingest operations, including digital file conversion, import, and media transfers from third-party sources
Coordinate live newscast content, ensuring seamless communication between technical and editorial teams
Assign editing tasks to video editors and contribute to editing newscast segments
Monitor live transmissions and manage content within the news rundown
Provide real-time support and troubleshooting for field crews
Required Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Proficiency in non-linear editing (Premiere preferred) and familiarity with newsroom systems such as AP ENPS, iNews, or Dalet
Minimum of 3 years of television news editing experience in a TV newsroom, exercising editorial judgement
Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in New York is $119,200 to $159,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

WABC is looking for an experienced staff general assignment reporter with the ability to authentically engage and connect with our audience. The ideal candidate must be a dynamic and compelling journalist, communicator, and storyteller with a passion for uncovering and reporting the facts, and with integrity above all else. This team member will work collaboratively with producers, assignment editors and newsroom leaders. The applicant must demonstrate a full understanding of the powerful voice and responsibility broadcasters have to, and with, the communities we serve. This team member will report for all platforms and dayparts, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
This is a full-time staff position. The position is covered under the SAG-AFTRA- WABC-TV Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This role is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a company-designated location on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities:
On-air performance
Researching, Writing and Reporting
Basic Qualifications:
Exceptional reporting, writing and interviewing skills
Must know how to source and generate impactful enterprise leads, and create impactful content utilizing the latest investigative tools, including data journalism.
You must be tenacious in your ability to uncover stories through investigation and research
Be an expert in telling high-impact stories and in breaking news coverage, and demonstrate that ability in the field
Report, write, capture visual content, edit and produce stories for multiple platforms on deadline, such as owned and distributed digital, streaming and social platforms
Active in using social media for promotion and news gathering
Demonstrated ability to move the audience between linear and digital platforms
A collaborative self-starter
Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
Strong commitment to the community, expected to represent the station and participate at various community events
Must be open to working early mornings, nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of reporting experience in a top 10 Market
Fluency in a second language
Required Education:

The Disney owned station WABC in New York City, has an opening for a collaborative anchor/reporter who is responsible for taking ownership of, and working with producers and reporters/colleagues to craft high impact content on linear and digital platforms. The candidate also sets the tone for teamwork and excellence within the station and across the station group. They must be a team player, compelling journalist, and inclusive storyteller with the ability to authentically engage and connect with a diverse audience.
