The Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X was arrested in Studio City on suspicion of battery on a police officer, Eyewitness News has learned.

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X was arrested Thursday morning in Studio City on suspicion of battery on a police officer and hospitalized for a possible overdose, Eyewitness News has learned.

Officers responded shortly before 6 a.m. to a call of a nude man walking in the street on the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The location is just west of the 101 Freeway, near Vineland Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man charged toward them, said an LAPD spokesperson. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a hospital.

The Police Department did not release the name of the suspect, and details about the possible overdose were not disclosed. Sources confirmed his identity to ABC7.

Eyewitness News reached out to his representatives but did not heard back.

Lil Nas X won video of the year at the 2021 MTV VMAs. In 2019, he galloped his way to two new records on the Billboard charts thanks to the massive success of "Old Town Road."

The song that beat out Mariah Carey and "Despacito" to become the longest-running No. 1 hit in the history of the Hot 100 chart and also set records on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs and Hot rap songs charts, respectively.
