Compared to the simmering summers Southern California usually experiences, the past few months have been relatively cool. Here's how this year compares to past summers.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Compared to the simmering summers Southern California usually experiences, the past few months have been relatively cool.

While these summer temperatures aren't setting any record highs, it doesn't look like they will be setting any record lows either. In fact, despite how mild temperatures have been, they are still a far reach from record lows of past summers.

We combed through data from the National Weather Service to discover what the lowest recorded daily highs in Southern California have been.

Here's a look at how the lowest daily highs this summer compare to the coldest highs recorded in Southern California history.

How did temperatures in June 2025 compare to past years?

The record lowest high in June in downtown Los Angeles hasn't been broken since 1925 when the daily high was 60 degrees. This year, the lowest daily high was 12 degrees warmer at 72 degrees.

Santa Monica recorded its lowest high in June more recently when the lowest daily high was 64 degrees in 2011. This June, the lowest high, coming in at 66 degrees, was close but not low enough to break the record.

Burbank's lowest daily highs in June:

June 2025: 73 degrees
Record low -- June 1963: 59 degrees

Oxnard's lowest daily highs in June:

June 2025: 66 degrees
Record low -- June 1937: 60 degrees

Palmdale's lowest daily highs in June:

June 2025: 80 degrees
Record low -- June 1999: 60 degrees

Woodland Hills' lowest daily highs in June:

June 2025: 79 degrees
Record low -- June 1937: 60 degrees

How did temperatures in July 2025 compare to past years?

In July 1935, the lowest daily high in downtown Los Angeles was 66 degrees. In the same year, Palmdale had its lowest recorded high at 73 degrees.

In comparison, this July, both regions' lowest highs were much warmer. Downtown Los Angeles' lowest daily high was 76 degrees and Palmdale's was 86 degrees.

July 2025: 76 degrees
Record low -- July 1941: 70 degrees

Oxnard's lowest daily highs in July:

July 2025: 71 degrees
Record low -- July 1987: 64 degrees

Santa Monica's lowest daily highs in July:

July 2025: 70 degrees
Record low -- July 2010: 64 degrees

Woodland Hills' lowest daily highs in July:

July 2025: 82 degrees
Record low -- July 1987: 74 degrees

How did temperatures in August 2025 compare to past years?

The coolest day this August is forecasted to be on Saturday, Aug. 16, but it still won't beat the all-time lowest highs from previous years.

Santa Monica is forecasted to hit 67 degrees on Saturday, so it may come close to beating its coolest high recorded in 2010 at 66 degrees. However, other areas likely won't come close to hitting the lowest recorded highs, most of which were set in the summer of 1951.

August 2025: 78 degrees

August 2025: 94 degrees
Record low -- August 2023: 70 degrees

August 2025: 88 degrees
