Permissions for Apps on the Amazon Appstore

When you install an app, you're notified of the permissions required to run that application.

Permission What it Does

In-App Purchasing

This permission lets you know that in-app purchases are available in the app. You'll always be asked to verify an in-app purchase before it's placed.

Development Tools

Grants permissions related to development features.

Hardware Controls

Grants access to the hardware on your device.

Your Location

Grants access to the location settings on your device.

Messages

Allows an application to send or receive messages on your behalf.

Network Communications

Grants access to the network services on your device.

Personal Info

Grants access to private data, such as your contacts, calendar events, or email messages.

Phone Calls

Grants access to the telephony state of your device. This permission allows an application to do things like intercept outgoing calls.

Storage

Grants access to your SD card.

System Tools

Grants access to system APIs (Application Program Interface).
