CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Two 17-year-old males were charged Saturday after three NYPD officers were attacked in Coney Island.
Police responded to a call about an assault just before midnight Friday near Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue.
The police encountered two groups fighting each other during the assault in progress.
According to officials, two officers were punched in the face and chest, while a third was struck in the head with an unknown object, causing a minor cut, as they tried to stop two individuals.
The officers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The teens were charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and assault on an officer.
An investigation into the cause of the fight is ongoing.
