36-year-old man critically injured by lightning strike on golf course
A 36-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by lightning while on a golf course in Florham Park on Sunday evening.

FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A 36-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by lightning while on a golf course in Florham Park on Sunday evening.

It happened around 6:10 p.m. at the Pinch Brook Golf Course between the second and 16th holes.

After the lightning strike, several bystanders performed life-saving efforts and said the victim lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

First responders performed CPR and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The lightning strike comes more than a month after Simon John Mariani, 28, was struck in early July during a competition at the Ballyowen Golf Club in Hardyston, New Jersey.
