"The case was never about the evidence." Amanda Knox speaks to ABC News Studios about her wrongful conviction and the aftermath in "Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story," airing Friday at 8p|7c on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu.

Amanda Knox is telling all.

Knox gave an exclusive primetime interview to ABC News Studios, where she talked about the case that made her a household name.

In 2007, a then 20-year-old Knox was wrongfully convicted of murdering her college roommate, Meredith Kercher. She spent years in an Italian prison, trying to prove her innocence until it was eventually overturned.

"I never really felt like I had the power to prove my innocence," Knox told ABC News in "Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story."

The events of 2007 made headlines around the world for years.

"The case was never about the evidence. It was about the story."

The special will cover how Knox navigated the perceptions of her, the misinformation about the case and how she handled the aftermath.

"Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story" airs Friday at 8p|7c on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
