HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Commuters riding the PATH train between Hoboken and New York experienced delays Wednesday morning due to ongoing track work.
Crews are replacing parts of a track junction, causing trains to move at a slower speed.
The work involves interlocking a section of the track with multiple switches that allows trains in and out of this terminal across three tracks.
New Jersey Transit and New York Waterway ferries are cross-honoring PATH fares at select stations.
The fix comes after a July 12 derailment due to a malfunctioning track switch.
It caused delays for commuters for half a day, and now crews will be doing repair work to fix the same switch problems.
In February, tracks between the Hoboken station and the Hudson River tunnel were replaced as part of a $31 million Hoboken Terminal rehabilitation project.
The track work closed PATH Hoboken Terminal station for nearly 30 days.
Officials say riders can expect delays to continue through Labor Day.
