Man who allegedly threw 1-year-old niece down garbage chute on Staten Island arraigned
PARK HILL, Staten Island (WABC) -- A man has been arraigned on charges after he allegedly threw his 1-year-old niece down a garbage chute of a building on Staten Island.
After undergoing a psychiatric evaluation, 39-year-old Aaron Henderson is facing charges including assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the baby was thrown down the garbage chute from the third floor to the first floor of a building in Park Hill on Monday.
The baby was rushed to the hospital and suffered only minor abrasions to her torso and is in stable condition.
Police said Henderson placed the baby in the garbage chute during an ongoing dispute with the child's father.
