NEW YORK (WABC) -- This week's MTA Hero is Ekow Amuaku, an administrative assistant for the 511 contact center for New York City Transit.
Amuaku played a key role in launching the transit system's OMNY Customer Service Center earlier this summer.
The center receives about 200 to 300 calls a day and is designed to assist customers with their accounts -- from questions about reduced subway fare to about traveling in the system.
He has been with the MTA for 13 years.
Amuaku says he loves helping customers and learning new things.
