MTA police officer accidentally shoots self at Grand Central Terminal while cleaning firearm
MIDTOWN EAST, Manhattan (WABC) -- An MTA police officer accidentally shot himself inside Grand Central Terminal.
The Transit Police say the officer was alone in a back room cleaning his service weapon on Sunday when it accidentally discharged.
The round struck him in the leg.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where doctors are treating him. They say the injury is not life-threatening.
The MTA Police Department's Internal Affairs Division is now investigating.
