Once Upon a Slush offers unique and classic flavors

PETALUMA, Calif. -- If you like slushy and you like ice cream, then you are in luck. Petaluma's own Once Upon a Slush is here to make all your childhood dreams come true.

"It brings a lot of people back to their childhood. You can't imagine how many people come in in their 30s and 40s and they go, 'Root beer and vanilla, oh yeah, absolutely!' 'Orange cream and vanilla, absolutely!' The first one I ever had was orange cream and vanilla, and now I own the place," says Dave Pokorny, co-owner of Once Upon a Slush.

Once Upon a Slush is the only shop in the area offering slush and soft serve together in a plethora of combinations and flavors.

"Six flavors are the core flavors: root beer, mango, orange cream, cherry. Then we have about five other flavors that we rotate in there, like coconut and sour apple. The unique ones, I personally think that pickle is pretty unique," added Pokorny.

The shop also offers unique experiences like white boards for kids to leave messages and interactive treasure hunts around the location.

The soft serve ice cream is sourced from Straus Family Creamery nearby in Petaluma. "The fact that the soft serve is local is really important to us, we really like being part of the community here. It's great," gleamed Pokorny.
