4 NYPD officers injured after 2 cruisers collide in the Rockaways
Phil Taitt has the details from outside Jamaica Hospital in Queens.

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- Two police cruisers collided while responding to a call in the Rockaways.

The vehicles crashed at Rockaway Freeway and Beach 35th Street around 10:10 p.m. Monday.

Four officers were injured and rushed to Jamaica Hospital.

The officers were responding to a call for shots fired nearby when they crashed. No one was struck by the gunfire.

The cruisers collided at the intersection of three main roads under an elevated subway line.

All officers are in stable condition.

It is unclear if any other vehicles were involved.
